In the ECP

Ok so last weekend I did find the (a) beach - finally! I ventured over to East Coast Park along the SE coast of Singapore. It's not really the "nice" beach, but there are lots of things to do, bike rentals, fishing, camping or just walk around and take pictures. My goal was actually two fold - I was trying to find a beach, but also trying to find a place to do a long run. There are facilities here, but I still haven't found a water fountain in the entire city, very strange!

Apparently about 15% of the islands land is reclaimed - so it's man made, just as this beach is. I was told the trees and sand were imported.

There were all kinds of ships lined up, empty, ready to go into Singapore Harbor - I think its this way all the time!

Ok, so they really don't have any real lakes big enough for boats around here, and as far as I can tell not too many areas to go waterskiing, but they found a way. That's right these guys are being pulled basically around a pond by a snow ski lift-type contraption, and there are jumps of course.

A lovely view from ECP looking back at the city center to the west.
